SIR, - I was dismayed to read on your front page (Herts Advertiser, January 12) that school uniform skirts took precedence over the more important article on page 23 about our St Albans MP, Mrs Anne Main. In this Mrs Main highlighted the negative response

SIR, - I was dismayed to read on your front page (Herts Advertiser, January 12) that school uniform skirts took precedence over the more important article on page 23 about our St Albans MP, Mrs Anne Main. In this Mrs Main highlighted the negative response received to her invitation to Tessa Jowell, Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport in connection with the new and very controversial Licensing Act. This Act is of great concern to many residents and deserved more prominent press. MURIEL KOWOLIK, Abbey Gate, St Albans.
