SIR, - Regarding the letter from Linda Stonehouse (Herts Advertiser, January 8) regarding positioning the Southdown sub-post office in one of the charity shops in the area.

Obviously Linda has never been inside one of these shops or she would have never made such a comment. The space is very limited and used to full effect for the benefit of local charities. Furthermore most of the ladies who work in these shops give their time freely to help raise funds.

Perhaps her anger would be better put to writing to whoever closed down the shop which housed the sub-post office.
