SIR, — Does anyone know what is happening to some of our horse chestnut trees? The leaves are shrivelling up and turning brown. I travelled from St. Albans to Wiltshire last week and saw dying leaves on many of the trees along the way. I also saw the same

SIR, - Does anyone know what is happening to some of our horse chestnut trees? The leaves are shrivelling up and turning brown.

I travelled from St. Albans to Wiltshire last week and saw dying leaves on many of the trees along the way. I also saw the same in Harpenden. I would hate to think we were going to lose them as we lost the elms with Dutch elm disease. Perhaps one of your readers knows?
