SIR, - I really can't match the wonderful photograph taken by a fellow resident of the unusual cloud formation (Herts Advertiser, August 14). However this, only a few yards away from the "double whammy" traffic lights at the junction of Victoria Street/St Peter's Street/Chequer Street really is a massive blot on the street scene.

Apparently this type of machine is now to be found in hospitals and shopping malls across the country. The other sides of the machine can be used for "a raft of additional retail services" including the ability to print digital photos, order flowers, play interactive Sudoku, top up a mobile, download ringtones and be a digital jukebox!

Do we really need this slap bang in the middle of Chequer Street or is there a less-obtrusive spot for this sort of thing? At least with the Tardis it is a temporary structure!
