SIR, - In answer to the letter from Tracey Williams (Herts Advertiser, December 4) concerning "Road manners", I agree there are some arrogant drivers who overtake dangerously - again in Sandridge, particularly just before House Lane where the road narrows.

I use the butchers in Sandridgebury Lane next to the livery stables from time to time and am acutely aware of the riders and their horses having spent my childhood visiting the local riding stables in Rickmansworth many years ago.

I nearly had an accident when a car spooked the horse I was riding.

Going slowly around the corner by the Scout hut at 15mph, I recently encountered a large horsebox approaching me and I know who would win in an accident.

So everyone please obey the 15mph speed limit and respect horses and their riders and don't spoil the enjoyment of time out in the countryside.
