SIR, - You make front-page news of a small muddy patch of field in Verulamium Park where the grass will grow back when the weather is right for it (Herts Advertiser, April 17).

Meantime St Albans District Council's £2m Masterplan for the park gets no publicity. Yet this will destroy our much-loved views of the main lake by planting a thick belt of vegetation almost all round it. Far worse than a muddy field!

Plans for this latest batty idea can be found in the library in the Maltings where few people will see them. How about an article about this so that people can see the real threat to the park.

PETER MILNE,

Alma Road, St Albans.

n Editor's note: We carried a story about the plans and the £2-million bid on P 17 of the March 27 edition which also told people where the plans could be seen. We have also carried numerous letters about the proposed changes, many of them critical.
