SIR, - May I through your newspaper thank the very kind lady who returned my mobile phone when I left it on the train on Friday, March 6, at around 1pm. I was travelling from Harpenden to St Albans and the phone slipped out of my pocket. When I realised it was missing I rang it and a lady on the train picked it up. She offered to post it back to me and it arrived the next morning. The phone was an 18th birthday present from my mum and dad and they would not have been able to replace it if it had not been returned.

I would have liked to have thanked this lady with a bunch of flowers but she did not put her address in with the phone. I do hope she reads this and knows how grateful I am for her kindness
