SIR, - My sister Peggy and I would like to express our thanks for the lovely tribute paid to our brother, Stanley Keasley, now 15 years deceased (Herts Advertiser letters, November 27).

We were both deeply touched that Stanley should have been remembered in this way after all these years.

We can assure your correspondent, Mr Paul Kinch, that Stanley was indeed very happy in his job and truly delighted in being of service to people - especially in keeping the Harpenden High Street pavements clean for shoppers and shopkeepers alike.

Stanley was always only truly happy when he was helping somebody else, a truly remarkable gift in one who was himself severely handicapped.

We thank you Mr Kinch for your kindness - and long memory.

MARIE CLARKE and PEGGY GAZELY,

Carisbrooke Road, Harpenden.
