SIR, - Why are St Albans residents so lazy in expecting their rubbish to be collected on the same collection day over the Xmas/New Year period?

The district council has done more than enough in my opinion in advising of the revised collection days from local advertisements to brightly-coloured refuse sacks with revised collection dates - but to no avail. In the Highfield Park area I would say that one in 12 people has had rubbish out for collection for over two days.

Please note that collection will not return to normal for a couple of weeks so please think before placing your refuse out at this time of year - or if you can't be bothered to think, just check your purple refuse bags.
