SIR - In view of Blair's broken word on the Lisbon Treaty, it is surprising that he did did not also sign us up to the Euro without public consent.

My theory is that he realised that people would curse him every time that they put a hand in their pocket and brought out the symbolic coin of betrayal.

Every problem that was predicted for the Euro has come to pass. Now the Greeks are bringing a Trojan Horse of financial chaos into the very heart of Europe.
