SIR, - The meeting of the Nomansland Common Joint Managment Committee is due to be held on Wednesday, July 30, at St Albans Civic Centre.

The democratic vote on various polls last year is a definite "no" to the proposal to graze cattle on the common by a margin of 95 per cent to five per cent.

Let us see if St Albans District Council on this occasion follows the wishes of the electorate or listens to the representatives of Countryside Management Services who place a higher priority on dung beetles than the local populace.

Could I ask any interested parties to turn up next Wednesday if they can and show the strength of feeling against this looney proposal.

JOHN STOCKER,

Nomansland, Wheathampstead.
