SIR, - It was kind of Mr R.A.R. Hunt to point out (Herts Advertiser, July 17) that the hands of St Peter's Church clock have been less than accurate in recent weeks. Our clock is maintained by a specialist clock repair company and its last service revealed a fault in the mechanism. I am happy to report that the repair was completed early last week, so normal service should now be resumed.

DAVID BRENTNALL,

Vicar of St Peter's Church.
