SIR, - In response to the letter from Linda Stonehouse about the opening of a third charity shop at Southdown, Harpenden (Herts Advertiser, January 8), the local fundraising committee of The Children's Society are using the empty premises on the corner of Cravells Road and Southdown Road on a temporary basis until January 24

Selling a wide variety of goods, we welcome support from those who wish to buy and those who have items to donate, and like to think we create a "feel-good factor" for all concerned.

PENNY TURNBULL,

Harpenden Appeals committee for The Children's Society.
