Take a trip back in time for a special historical evening at St Albans Cathedral as part of the city’s first literary festival.
Join BBC news presenter Martine Croxhall as she hosts best-selling authors Leanda de Lisle and Conn Iggulden in the beautiful and historical Lady Chapel for a night exploring the Tudors.
Historian Leanda de Lisle will talk about her magnificent, critically-acclaimed history Tudor: The Family Story, which presents a fresh perspective on the dynasty and is a bookshelf essential for anyone interested in this period.
Best-selling historical fiction novelist Conn Iggulden has begun a new series of books based on The Wars of the Roses.
The first book Stormbird was a Sunday Times Bestseller and the second book in the series Trinity is out in October. Conn will talk about the sequence and reveal more about Trinity as part of a special evening taking place 559 years after the First Battle of St Albans.
The Tudor event will also feature folk music from a local St Albans band, and refreshments are available.
Doors open at 7.15pm and tickets cost £12.50, available from the website at www.stalbansliteraryfestival.co.uk
Martine Croxall will also be presenting some of the other author events taking place at St Albans LitFest, so don’t miss out on a chance to see one of the country’s top television presenters first hand.
Keep checking the Herts Advertiser for announcements on more LitFest events, or visit the website.
