All-weather fun at Paradise

It was on a drizzly day that we found ourselves taking a trip to Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne. I wasn’t sure how we would fare trying to look around a zoo in wet weather, but since we seem to be having a rainy autumn I thought it would be a good test of how much Paradise could offer the out of season explorer.

Happy days

This week we headed to Happy House, the Hartbeeps class for toddlers and those up to the age of four. They also run classes for babies from birth to sitting, and sitting to toddling. Run by Andrea Kennedy and held at the Charters Health Club in St Albans and the Girl Guide Hall in Harpenden, Happy House is a 50 minute interactive, imaginative musical class and is, in my opinion, one of the best groups around.

Getting creative without the clearing up

Aimed at 1 to 5 year olds and run during term time, it’s designed to offer a 50 minute structured session encompassing art, music and craft.

We could have spent the entire afternoon in the car park watching the planes but, with an article in mind, we ploughed on.

A day out with the fish

THE weather has been variable this week so on a rainy afternoon we took a trip to Maidenhead Aquatics in St Albans.

A Jurassic park at Knebworth

THEO has been a bit under the weather this week so I decided to head to Knebworth Gardens, Dinosaur Trail and Adventure Playground, hoping there might be enough there to cheer him up.

Farmyard frolics at Woodside

ON a sunny Saturday, we decided to head to Woodside Animal Farm for some fresh air and for Theo to meet the animals. Tucked between Slip End and Aley Green, Woodside turned out to be a little gem of a farm, strongly geared towards younger children and offering an unusual mix of animals.
