It was a disappointing weekend for Oaklands Wolves as all three senior National League teams in action lost.

Wolves' Division Two men visited a MK Breakers side who the previous week had become the first second tier side to win the National Cup in the 46-year history of the competition.

And the hosts continued their push for Division One status with a 112-74 victory.

Travel problems mean Wolves had to adjust their starting line-up, but early baskets from Oliver Rudzinski and Lanre Pratt gave them a 4-0 lead before the hosts settled and went into the first break with a 25-10 advantage.

A La'Quaren Sayers' triple at the start of the second period sparked a better performance from Wolves as they shared 50 points in the quarter, but the second half saw them worn down by the big-spending hosts as they outscored them 30-19 and 32-20 to wrap up the win.

Sayers dropped four triples in his team-high 16 points, with Daren Agbonogah adding 11 and Rudzinski 10.

Wolves men return to action on Saturday when they host fellow strugglers Greenwich Titans at Oaklands in a game both teams need to win if they are to avoid the drop.

Tip-off is at 6pm with tickets available through http://www.oaklandsbasketball.com or on the door.

Wolves' women also return to action after a break while the WBBL Trophy concluded, and they face a long trip to Caledonia Pride on Sunday.

Wolves' Division Three men were edged out 87-78 at Northampton Titans on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts took a 26-20 lead into the first break and extended it to 54-42 at half-time.

But Wolves fought back to reduce the arrears to 74-66 at the final break before Titans shaded the fourth quarter 24-23 to take the victory.

Dan Kostadindor led Wolves with 26 points, with Sam Mpundu  and Milic Pavic  finishing with 18 points apiece for the visitors.

Nineteen fourth-period points from Caitlin Ryan couldn't prevent Wolves' Division Two women suffering a 77-70 home loss against Cardiff Met Archers II on Sunday evening.

The 16-year exploded with four three-pointers in the last quarter, including a rare four-point play, but after taking a three-point lead the hosts went cold as the Welsh team reeled off 13 points before Ryan broke the run with the final shot of the game.

Wolves trailed 20-16 at the first break and saw the deficit grow to 32-26 going into the half-time break.

It was a seven-point game going into the final period but Ryan  capped a 9-0 run to give Wolves a 63-62 lead and then hit a free-throw after scoring her fourth trip to put the hosts 67-64 ahead.

But that proved to be as good as it got for a Wolves side who struggled with foul trouble all evening, and Cardiff took control to seal the victory.

Ryan finished with 26 points, six assists and four rebounds, while Cleo Lewis-Gayle had 12 points and six boards.

Stella Ekblad-Piscitelli saw her court time limited but still poured in ten points, while Joanna Akpan pulled down nine rebounds.
