STRICTLY Come Dancing stars, Katya Virshilas and Pasha Kovalev, are coming to The Alban Arena next Tuesday, April 3.

The show will include dance routines by Katya and Pasha, joined by Lindsay Mukle and Ryan Hammond, the undefeated British Latin Show Dance Champions.

Between them, they will performing the rumba, waltz, foxtrot, tango and many more and there will be a chance to quiz Katya and Pasha about what goes on behind the scenes of the hit BBC show.

In addition, five members of the audience will join the cast on stage in their own strictly dance competition.

The two godfathers of the paranormal world, Derek Acorah and Richard Felix, are appearing together from 7.30pm on the stage of the Arena next Thursday, April 5.

The show invites audience members on stage to take part in heart-stopping experiments, including live séances, Ouija board and table tipping plus lone vigils within the depths of the Arena whilst the team on stage attempt to raise ghostly apparitions.

Psychic and Science takes an in-depth look at the world of ghosts and ghouls, combining a balanced scientific view of things that go bump in the night with the UK’s most prolific experts on the paranormal,

Derek and Richard last worked together back in 2005 and are well known for their appearances on Living TV’s Most Haunted where their friendship was formed. They will be joined by ghost-hunter Denise Mott and the presenter is Paul Gannon, who will try to be the voice of reason.

As well as live experiments, spirit medium Derek will attempt to communicate with distressed souls or those who have a connection to anyone in the audience and wish to pass on messages from beyond the grave. Richard will discuss local haunted legends – as well as controversial subjects like the relationship between the spirit world and the Church.

n Oscar-winning film The Artist is being screened at the Arena at 1.30pm and 7.30pm next Wednesday, April 4, and again at 7.30pm next Saturday, April 7.

Outside a movie premiere, enthusiastic fan Peppy Miller literally bumps into the swashbuckling hero of the silent film, George Valentin. The star reacts graciously and Peppy plants a kiss on his cheek as they are surrounded by photographers.

With the headlines demanding to know who she is, Peppy is inspired to audition for a dancing bit-part at the studio. But as she slowly rises through the industry, the introduction of talking pictures turns Valentin’s world upside-down.

Monster in Paris is the children’s matinee at 11am and 2pm next Saturday, April 7.

Set in Paris in 1910 Emile, a shy movie projectionist, and Raoul, a colourful inventor, find themselves embarked on the hunt for a monster which is terrorising citizens.

They join forces with Lucille, played by Vanessa Paradis, the big-hearted star of the Bird of Paradise cabaret, an eccentric scientist and his irascible monkey to save the monster, who turns out to be an oversized but harmless flea, from the city’s ruthlessly ambitious police chief.

Tickets are £5 for the matinees and £7/£5 concessions for evening screenings.
