A TRIO of local young dancers are practising their pliés for their appearance with the English Youth Ballet (EYB) next weekend.

Hannah Griffiths, 17, Ellie Clark, 14, and Daisy Herron, nine, were selected from over 200 young hopefuls at audition in January to appear in The Sleeping Beauty at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury next Friday and Saturday, August 24 and 25.

They will dance alongside EYB’s international principal artists in a professional production and will experience the life of a professional ballet dancer

Hannah, who appears as Aurora’s nurse/governess in The Sleeping Beauty, is a pupil of St George’s School in Harpenden and trains at Wheathampstead Dance Academy while Ellie, who takes the role of a Lilac Fairy attendant/Russian dancer, goes to St Albans Girls School and trains at The Dance Studio.

The youngest of the trio Daisy, who dances the role of a songbird/Cinderella’s attendant, also goes to The Dance Studio and is a pupil at SS Alban and Stephen Junior School.
