THE much-publicised tour of regional theatres by Dynasty diva Joan Collins stops off at the Alban Arena next Tuesday, April 23.

One Night With Joan will find the country’s most glamorous pensioner talking about her life story and sharing the stories and secrets of her celebrated career.

As one of the world’s most intriguing personalities she will recount memorable and surprising moments in her life and the one woman show will feature rare footage from her life including her marriage to Anthony Newley, her screen test for Cleopatra and her first on-set encounter with Bette Davis.

She will also talk about why and how Hollywood changed her fortune together with showing outtakes from Dynasty.

Inspired comedy from Jimeoin comes to the Arena next Friday, April 26.

Acclaimed as one of the hottest stand-up comics of this generation, he brings his biggest comedy tickets seller at the Edinburgh Fringe Jimeoin-What?! to the local stage at 7.30pm.

Jimeoin has performed sell-out tours to record-breaking audiences across the length and breadth of his adopted homeland, Australia, and throughout the UK and Ireland.

Tickets are £14.50.

Boogie Night returns to the Arena from 7pm until midnight next Saturday, April 27, with funk and soul hits all in one night.

Tribute is paid to one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the twentieth century Earth Wind and Fire by the Ultimate Earth Wind and Fire.

Also appearing is Gwen Dickey from the American soul and R&B group Rose Royce, best known for several hit singles during the 1970s including Car Wash, I Wanna Get Next to You, Wishing on a Star, and Love Don’t Live Here Any More.

Celebrating Chic, the 70’s American disco and R’n’B group are Chic Le Freak. Chic are best known for their commercially-successful disco songs, including Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah), Everybody Dance, and Le Freak.

In addition, the evening aims to relive the cool smooth tunes of Shakatak, the English jazz-funk band who scored a number of chart entries, and Phil Fearon, lead singer, songwriter and keyboardist for the 1980s band Galaxy, will also be performing.

n Heart-warming comedy drama Song For Marion screens at the Arena at 1.30pm and 7.30pm next Wednesday, April 24.

Grumpy pensioner Arthur honours his recently deceased wife’s passion for performing by joining the unconventional local choir to which she used to belong, a process that helps him build bridges with his estranged son, James.

It stars Terence Stamp, Venessa Redgrave, Gemma Arterton and Christopher Eccleston.

Tickets for film matinees are £5 and for evenings are £7 or £5 for concessions.
