THIRTYSOMETHING singleton Bridget Jones made women’s big pants famous.

And a one-woman show written by Louise Roche and starring Rebecca Wheatley will celebrate Big Pants and Botox at the Hertford Theatre next Thursday, February 23.

Best known as receptionist Amy Howard in Casualty, Rebecca is touring her tour-de-force Big Pants and Botox.

The show is a tremendous blend of powerful writing and acting, as it leads the audience onto the emotional rollercoaster that is Barbara’s 50th birthday celebration.

Having survived such a significant event, she starts thinking about many things – not least the merits of big pants and botox.

Part of the play was inspired by a true story Louise discovered while researching a TV documentary 20 years ago.

The material was never used but has lingered in her imagination all this time, just waiting for the most appropriate format in which to present it.

The story she has woven and the character she has created are by turns hilarious, intriguing and ultimately uplifting.

As well as appearing in Casualty, Rebecca’s other dramatic television roles include Holby, Doctors and Pie in the Sky.

Her bubbly personality has also enlivened shows like Loose Women, where she was a regular presenter.

Rebecca also starred in West End musicals Fame and Bad Girls -The Musical and even survived pantomime with Paul O’Grady as Lily Savage at the Victoria Palace.

The show is on at Hertford Theatre on Thursday at 7.45pm and tickets are £12 and £10 concessions, available from the box office on 01992 531500 or book online at www.hertfordtheatre.com
