Classic Road Trip

(Universal Music)

Get on the road again, as you ain’t seen nothin’ yet…

If there’s still plenty of gas in your tank after last year’s American Road Trip collection, then this line-up of driving dynamite is reason enough to keep your engine running long into the night.

Admittedly, most music connoisseurs will have a lot of these songs, either on the original artists’ albums or scattered across other compilations, but don’t let that put you off. The beauty of this triple-CD release is having them all in one place, crashing into one another like a rock ‘n’ roll pile-up on the motorway to madness.

Kicking off (appropriately) with The Rolling Stones’ Start Me Up, what you then have is a journey through the classics, bumper-to-bumper masterpieces from the likes of Cream, The Who, Free, Bryan Adams and U2 giving way to hits including Ace of Spades, Born To Be Wild and Keep On Running.

Along the way you’ll be diverted by passes from Blondie, The Police, Bon Jovi, Poison, Rush, Kiss and Lynyrd Skynyrd, before coming to a halt with Edison Lighthouse’s Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes).

The highways and byways of the open road are beckoning, so press play and enjoy the ride.
