St Albans group Enter Shikari are celebrating their third UK top five album.

They entered the official UK charts at number five on Friday with fifth studio album The Spark.

Frontman Rou Reynolds, bassist Chris Batten, drummer Rob Rolfe and lead guitarist Rory Clewlow had previously enjoyed top four successes with 2007 debut Take to the Skies and 2012’s A Flash Flood of Colour.

Fourth album The Mindsweep peaked at number six.

The Killers enjoyed the week’s highest new entry with Wonderful Wonderful, knocking Foo Fighters’ Concrete and Gold off top spot.

Ed Sheeran and Van Morrison also beat Enter Shikari, who were at number three in the midweek charts.

The band did have the best-selling album on cassette last week.

Enter Shikari signed copies of their new album at Empire Records in their home city last Tuesday.

Empire Records’ manager Dave Burgess said: “A St Albans band were putting out a new album, so it made sense for us to do something.

“They did signings with the larger stores like HMV, so we were the smallest.”
