HERTS Jazz promoter Clark Tracey leads his latest line-up featuring exceptional young musicians at the club on Sunday night.

Following in the footsteps of previous alumni such as Guy Barker, Gerard Presencer, Zoe Rahman, Kit Downes, Alec Dankworth and Django Bates, the band continues Clark’s tradition of providing a national platform to gifted young musicians.

Clark was thrown straight into the major league of jazz at 17 when he became the drummer for various groups led by his father, Stan Tracey, the legendary British jazz pianist.

Thirty years on and Clark still performs and records alongside his dad as well as leading, composing and arranging for his own bands.

Clark has released 11 albums under his own name and played in well over 100 recordings as a sideman. As a freelance drummer, he has had 30 years’ experience playing alongside some of the most important artists in jazz at home and abroad.

Tickets for the club at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City, are £5 for students and under 21s, £11 in advance from http://www.hawthornetheatre.co.uk/whatsonstage.html and £13 on the door.
