A MANDOLIN and guitar duo will perform a lunchtime concert at the Abbey on Tuesday.

The lunchtime concert will feature the first appearance of Duo Napolitano - made up of St Albans resident Nigel Woodhouse on mandolin and Forbes Henderson on guitar.

Both performers are at the top of their profession, appearing regularly with leading orchestras and groups in London, on TV and in film sessions.

The programme will see the musicians with their unusual combination of instruments cover works by Bach, Handel and Vivaldi.

The concert is free but a retiring collection will be in aid of the St Albans Abbey Girls' Choir's tour fund set up to support a proposed USA tour in 2010 in which they hope to perform in around six east coast cities from New York to Miami.
