St Albans collected their second draw of the season at Clarence Park on Saturday, this time against Hitchin.

Having won the toss and electing to bat, Rob Nicol starred for the away side, scoring a very well made 97 before being dismissed just shy of his century by Mark Telkman, who finished with excellent figures of 5-54 of 13 overs.

Mansroor Raja also bowled well for the Saints, picking up 2-92 off 26 overs as Hitchin finished on 190-8 off their 53 overs.

St Albans sought to chase down the total well but were hampered by wickets at regular intervals. Steven Flint was the pick of the Hitchin bowlers with 4-33 off 10 overs.

Aaron Jones continued his early-season form with 50 and was ably supported by Craig Bennett-Scotcher (41*) as Saints finished up with 158-9.

Result: St Albans (158-9) drew with Hitchin (190-8)
