London Four North West Hitchin 27 Old Verulamians 24 VEES went down by three points when they took on Hitchin in London Division Four North West on Saturday. Hitchin were chasing their sixth win of the season while the Vees, down on their luck and stranded at the bottom of the table, were looking for only their second success. Try scorers Ollie Gardner, Trevor Munien and Steve Fordham kept Vees in contention during the match and the visitors were also boosted by a penalty try. Rob Saunders kicked two conversions for Vees but the final score was 27-24 to Hitchin.
