Harpenden ladies are the new county champions – and have a trip to the home of Bowls for the National Championships to look forward to.

Pauline Taylor, Val Christiaans, Lesley Tutt and Dena Roberts saved their best performance of the competition until the final as they emphatically beat Whitethorn 24-9 to reach Royal Leamington Spa.

The club have another six finals coming up as well.

The 2018 Herts finals take place on Sunday at Bishop’s Stortford and Harpenden will be represented by Pat Hilson (women’s singles), Nick and Tom Muir (men’s pairs), Sue and Becky Maynard (women’s pairs) with Tom Muir also a county finalist in the junior singles.

Colin Driscoll, Noel Roberts and Tony Redford reached the London & Southern Counties Triples area final while Woodie Donoghue and Tony Redford are through to the Hertfordshire final of the National Senior pairs.
