London Colney Football Club could be on the verge of folding – if a new committee is not found by Monday.

After their most successful season ever, which saw the club win the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division and gain promotion to step four of the non-league pyramid, things have gone from bad to worse.

They were allocated to the Ryman League Division One North instead of their preferred option, the Southern League Division One Central.

And although the club appealed that decision, it was not upheld by the FA.

It has now transpired that the club will not be going up and their place has been taken by Hertford Town.

This summer has also seen manager Joe Sweeney leave the club as well as top scorer Jon Clements, who has signed for SSML rivals Welwyn Garden City last week.

And following the club’s AGM on Monday night, it emerged that four of the main committee members were resigning.

Secretary Dave Brock gave a brief response to the Herts Ad, saying: “The main body of the committee have resigned and we are looking for a new committee.

“We are looking for people who can invest time and money.”

Anyone who can help should contact the club as soon as possible.
