ST ALBANS City Ladies overcame local rivals St Albans City Youth 2-0 in Sunday's encounter.

Starting with only nine players the Ladies went 1-0 up when Tiffany Harbron and Kate Clarke worked a one-two on the edge of the area and Clarke calmly round Youth goalkeeper Megan Hebb before applying the finish.

The Ladies had created a couple of openings before they took the lead with Caroline Johnston firing into the side netting.

Rebecca Atkins in goal for the Ladies had a good game excellently tipping one shot over the bar.

The Ladies doubled their lead when Clarke grabbed her second goal, hitting a ferocious shot into the roof of the net following Ria Llewellyn's pass.

Ladies: Atkins, Ladd, Smith, M Warren, Brown, Johnston, Harbron, Clarke, De Simone, Llewellyn.
