Sailor were two-up by half-time in this exciting end-to-end contest but an impressive double from substitute Nico Campanella and a debut goal from George Hunter in the dying moments gave Greens the win.

Royston Rangers lost a tight game 2-1 to Stonewood Res. Ryan Lawler scored for Rangers late in the game after Dan Hedges and Tom Dickens had put Stonewood two goals to the good.

Victoria had no answer to the finishing of Blackboy’s Ian Adele who bagged five goals in a 6-0 victory. Scott Pointer scored the other goal.

Athletico Quat returned to winning ways with a 4-1 defeat of Oaks. Joe Meija scored two with Darren Cavaree and Sam Nevin getting one each.

In the Knockout Cup, Skew Bridge destroyed BWSC 12-1. Tom Smith had a field day, scoring five goals, a feat matched by substitute Mark Hitchcock. Ben Warren and new recruit James Ewington got the others while Luke Starnes replied for BWSC.

Phoenix defeated AFC Rangers 3-0 in the Challenge Cup with a bullet header from Alex Thomson the highlight. Ally Hill and Jack Taylor got singles.

Forty-five-year-old veteran John Murphy couldn’t help Skew Bridge Res slipping to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Queens Head Sandridge. Another veteran, Sam Ledger, scored the winner.

In the Premier Division an under-par performance from New Jacks saw them lose 3-1 to Stonewood. Despite missing a number of key players Jacks still fielded a strong side but lacked their usual creative spark. Matty Parkins scored their only goal.

Kieran Johnson handed a tight 3-2 win to Blacksmith Arms in Division One after Six Bells had fought level from two goals down. Jack Skinner and Rhys Jacob got Arms’ first two goals

Brookmans Park put in a brilliant performance in an 8-0 win over Facelad. Drew Botterman lead the way with a hat-trick, Dan moss got two and there were singles from James Lawrence, Callum Baylis as well as an own goal.

Ten-man Phoenix Res gave a gritty performance in Division Two but still lost 1-0 to Snug Bar.

Veteran Dean Chisholm rolled back the years when he hit a hat-trick in his first start back at Wheathampstead ‘89. Star man Ben Ryan scored the other goal with a header. Winger Tom Henshall helped the team with three assists as Wheato also recorded their first clean sheet of the season.

Brookmans Park Res went both a goal and a man down, following a red card and penalty, yet still managed to come out with a 2-1 win over Chequers Inn thanks to late goals from Liam Doyle and Michael Bennett.

And in Division Four Harpenden Colts OB Res lost 2-1 to Pinewood in a game they will feel they deserved a draw in. Alex Dennehy equalised for Colts after Pinewood had taken a first-half lead but injuries didn’t help their cause and Pinewood grabbed a winner to remain top of the table. Tom Pegram and Casey Paine got their goals.

Despite drawing 1-1 at the break, Royston Rangers Res suffered a second-half to forget as they lost 7-1 to Brookmans Park ‘A’. Luke Lowles-Hourigan scored for Rangers, with an assist from Alex Grant. Park’s goals came from a hat-trick by Paolo Besenzi and one each for James Jankawski, Toby Hanlon and Stuart Bright.

Two goals from Patrick Monroes Lacereda gave The Mill a 2-0 victory against CHL.

Marshalswick Rovers defeated AFC Mymms 7-3 in a game closer than the score suggests. Steve Bellard got two while Roscoe Boyes, Nick Waddy, Rulo Mendoza, Adam Woodward and Sam Fisher, with a 30-yard screamer, got the rest.
