SAM Mitchell scored to salvage a point for London Colney from the derby clash at Hatfield Town on Wednesday.

After the agony of losing their opening league fixture in the last minute, Colney were quickly behind at Hatfield. Rhys Lawrence opened the scoring for the home side inside a minute.

Colney were under pressure and relied on some brilliant goalkeeping from impressive youngster Anthony Ladyman.

At the other end, Mitchell made Hatfield for spurning some chances when he drove into the box and forced the equaliser home at the second attempt on 29 minutes.

Jermaine Davey could have secured a dramatic derby win for Colney with a sizzling shot from distance that arrowed just over the cross bar late on.
