Five-star Parkinson starts season on fire as Breakspear rack-up big win

A brace from Dave Parkinson took his tally to five for the season and helped NBOB to a 5-0 win over Brookmans Park in the Herts Advertiser Sunday League Premier Division.
Trevor Stevens and Fran Silver got the other goals.
AFC Rangers’ battle with Phoenix was decided by a 60-yard lob from star man Dean Thompson. Phoenix’s best chance came from a Hill header in the second half.
In Division One Skew Bridge Res were slow to start but once they got going they managed to seal a 2-1 win over The Compasses. James Elliot himself to two well-taken goals before Jamie Beaumont pulled one back for Compasses.
Blacksmiths and Six Bells drew 2-2 in a game of two halves. Joe O’Brien put Blacksmiths ahead but Jack Reid and Leo Gibbon then gave Bells the lead. But an equaliser in the last few minutes brought parity.
Bradmore Rovers came from behind three times to take a point against NBOB Res. Young Striker Daryl Archer was outstanding with all three goals for Bradmore while Jack Gajjar, Max Evans and Michael Webb scored for Breakspear.
Brookmans Park Res drew 2-2 with Facelad in Division Two, Scott De La Feunte and Adam Davies scoring for Park while Michael Alderman and Darren O’Brien were on target for Facelad.
St Albans Irish lost 2-0 to Welwyn Warriors while Colney Heath Sunday proved too good for Stonewood United, winning 5-1 with goals from James Catchpole, George Hunter, Spencer Clarke-Mardel and Billy Ordinaire.
Wheathampstead ‘89 brought their goals tally to 15 following their 8-0 win against TNF in Division Three. Ryan Clark scored twice with Lee Bennett, James Watt, Duncan Gray, James Lynch and Scott Groeger getting one each.
Tom Hughes became the first player to play 50 matches for Royston Rangers as they lost 5-0 to New Greens.
Veer Dhara fought back from 2-0 down with 20 minutes to go against BWSC to salvage a 2-2 draw.
Andy Pytel and Stuart Pearson scored for Dhara while Matt Hudson and Rob Bennett netted for BWSC.
Goals by Dwaine Bryan and Sam Ayo plus a fine performance from Mark Morrison earned Tansley a 2-2 draw against AFC Mymms.
Hatfield Mosquito surrended a 2-0 lead against Harpenden Colts OB in Division Four, eventually losing 5-2. Luke Wilkins and Paul Newton got their goals before doubles from both Edi Bokcui and Max Mackenzie, plus an own goal, saved the day for the OBs.
James Bright scored twice and there was a rare goal from Michael Handscombe as St Albans Warriors beat Royston Rangers Res 5-0. Dan Gillians and Kieran Thorne got the others.
Wrestlers won their second game of the season, defeating Hatfield Seniors 4-2, with goals from Dan Hedges, Joe Smith, Tom Law and Robert Taylor. The Seniors’ replies came from Jaidan Doocey.
Ian Adele scored both Blackboy’s goals in their 2-2 draw against Blacksmiths Res who replied through Chris Jell and John Armitt.
CHL had four different scorers as they beat Brookmans Park ‘A’ 4-2. Jack Dowling, Scott Valentine, Jamie Burbury and Scott Moore were all on target while Dan Hart netted both Park goals.
A really close game in the Herts Advertiser Intermediate Cup between Marshalswick Rovers and Snug Bar was settled by a solitary goal.
A composed finish into the bottom corner on 30 minutes was enough to send Snug Bar through.
