AFC Rangers remain unbeaten in Herts Advertiser Sunday League Premier Division after beating Queens Head Sandridge 3-2 in an exciting and highly competitive game.
George Elliott gave Queens the lead before Rangers levelled on half-time.
But with the wind behind them in the second period, Rangers pushed hard and went ahead before Jack Woods levelled things up once again.
However, Rangers edged ahead again late in the game to seal the win.
Facelad won their fourth Division Two game on the trot defeating Phoenix Res 7-2. Star of the show was hat-trick hero Oliver Stevens, with two from Darren O’Brien and one each for Michael Alderman and Peter Clynes completed the scoring.
Johnny Brown and Scott Brown got Snug Bar back to winning ways with a 2-1 win against Welwyn Warriors. Scott Taylor netted for Warriors.
Royston Rangers continued their winning form in Division Three with a solid 6-2 win over BWSC. Glenn Johnson enjoyed his day, scoring three and getting two assists, while Dan Mills scored a brace. Jon Hart got the other with Chris Caruana and Robert Bennett on target for BWSC.
Simon Pierce got Marshalswick Rovers only goal as they lost their fourth game on the bounce, a 3-1 defeat to AFC Mymms
In Division Four, Brookmans Park ‘A’ were always in control against Royston Rangers Res and should have been further ahead at half-time than a single Dan Hart low finish.
But they took total control in the second half running out 5-0 winners with a further goal from Hart plus a double from Matt Merrill and a Scott De La Feunte driven shot that was to hot for the keeper to handle.
Jean-Paul Lyons was the man of the match for Rangers with yet another solid defensive display.
League leaders Wrestlers made it five wins in a row with a 5-1 success against Blackboy. Ashley Kingston took the honours with a hat-trick while Barry Draper and Ashleigh Robinson completed the tally. James Townsend replied for Blackboy.
A determined and resilient Hatfield Seniors deserved their 3-2 victory with Harpenden Colts OB helping them along the way.
The OB’s took an early lead through Ali Dearman following a goalmouth scramble only to see the Seniors take advantage of a defence completely out of position and score an equaliser just before half time.
The second half saw the OB’s at their worst as they allowed the Seniors to score two quick goals before Ali Dearman got his second to provide hope of a draw.
However, this was not to be and the Colts yet again flattered to deceive.
Seniors’ goals came from Ben Neville (two) and Aaron Puleston to extend their unbeaten league run to five games.
Tansley Sunday, favourites for Division Three honours, are through to the Middlesex Vets Cup Final with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Wrysbur, Giles Arthur getting the winning goal 15 minutes from time.
They will play either London Lions or Middlesex Wanderers in the final on April 8.
