Body found near Batchwood Sports Centre

A man in his 20s has been found dead near Batchwood Sports Centre following a massive police search.

Police were called at 9.47pm on Tuesday to St Albans following reports a man had gone missing.

Due to concerns about his welfare, a massive search effort was undertaken involving multiple officers, a dog unit, the fire service, and a police helicopter.

Sadly the body of a man in his 20s was found near the Batchwood Sports Centre.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
