Jewellery was snatched by burglars who smashed their way into a home last week.

Between noon on Thursday, February 1 and 8.30am on Friday, February 2, criminals came in through the back garden and smashed a patio door to a home in Tuffnells Way in Harpenden.

They carried out an untidy search, and took a gold ring and diamond and topaz earrings.
