Sunny and dry November recorded in St Albans district

It was especially sunny this November across the district, according to weather experts at Rothamsted Research.
The Harpenden weather station found it was also drier and colder than average.
There was 53.5mm of rainfall, 23.09mm below average, with 22 days with 0.2mm or more of rain, and five days with over 5mm.
The most was 11.2mm on Wednesday, November 22.
Sunshine was above average with 92 hours, and the most was 6.9 hours on Monday, November 6.
Only one day saw no sunshine, and this November ranks as the ninth sunniest since records began in 1890.
The maximum and minimum mean air temperatures were below average.
The warmest day reached 14.4C on Wednesday, November 22 and the lowest was -2.3C on Saturday, November 25. There were four air frosts and 15 ground frosts.
The average refers to the 30 year means 1981 to 2010.
