The majority of tickets sold for Meraki Festival were from the local area - St Albans and Harpenden families crowded to Herts Showground in the sun to enjoy everything there was on offer.

Music acts included Jason Donovan, Lamar, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Tony Hadley, and Belinda Carlisle. Festival entertainment was suitable for adults and children alike.

There was theatre and hula-hooping for children, and massages and hot tubs for parents looking to relax.

Reporters from the Herts Ad asked festival-goers what they thought of the whole event. Watch their responses in our video.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
