HERTS police have today, Friday, released CCTV images in relation to a theft in a St Albans supermarket.

The theft took place at Sainsbury’s in Everard Close St Albans on Monday July 23 at 6.30pm.

A man was at the customer service desk when another man was seen picking up his wallet and place it in his pocket.

Officers would like to talk with the man seen in the CCTV as part of their inquiries and are asking anyone who recognises him to contact Herts Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Troy Ahern: 24, of Lemsford Road, St Albans, was committed to prison for six weeks suspended for 18 months, made subject to an inclusion order covering St Albans city centre and Victoria Street, Luton town centre, prohibited from carrying in public any accessory which could be deemed as accessories used by police, army or security door staff, including apps on mobile phones which play such noises, or wearing a uniform relating to the same, for a period of 18 months, and was ordered to pay £165 costs after impersonating a special constable or member of the police force at Luton on January 15, St Albans on January 16 and 22, and carrying out two assaults, one on a man and one on a woman, in St Albans on January 16 and November 5.
