A St Albans estate agent is running an ultra-marathon to raise money for a mental health charity.

Ashtons manager Richard Fossey and pal Kyle Birkin will be running the 106K Isle of Wight Ultra Marathon on April 5 and 6 to raise £1,000 for Just One Click Away (JOCA).

Richard said: “The training is going extremely well with some big distances under our belt now so we are really looking forward to getting out there.

“JOCA is such a worthy cause offering a vital service in the community so we’re delighted to be able to offer our assistance. Our fundraising is progressing well, however we would be very grateful for any additional support!”

JOCA was set up by Welwyn Rugby Club to offer support to club members following the suicides of two young members.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
