Trains running to and from St Albans may be delayed by up to ten minutes due to a points failure.

Thameslink say earlier this afternoon a failure was detected in a set of points, which are used by trains to turn around at the station.

Until these are fixed, trains will need to switch direction at other locations such as Harpenden, which may lead to minor delays on some services.

The disruption is expected to last until 3.30pm and if you want to follow updates on Twitter, search for #StAlbans.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
