MOST schools in the St Albans district have remained closed for a second day following heavy snowfalls on Sunday night and during Monday.

The majority of them have now notified Herts County Council that they will not be re-opening until tomorrow (Wednesday) at the earliest.

Train services are still disrupted with First Capital Connect running a reduced service on the Thameslink line but UNO, which runs the majority of bus services in the district, is back to normal today with all services running.
