Police are currently at Southdown Ponds in Harpenden which have been cordoned off following reports that the body of a man had been seen in the water.

Police have now confirmed that the body of a man has been recovered from Southdown Ponds in Harpenden.

They were called to the site shortly after 10am this morning ((21) after reports that the body of man had been seen in the water.

Investigations are ongoing as police seek to identify him but the death is being treated as non-suspicious.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
