A man who was seen performing a sexual act on himself in a Harpenden street is being sought by the police.

Herts Police have appealed for information and witnesses after the man was allegedly seen committing an indecent act at about 1.10pm yesterday (Wednesday), in Carlton Road.

The offender was described as around 6ft tall, of medium build with black hair, a tanned complexion and was wearing a dark blue polo shirt and dark blue combat trousers.

Pc Tim Armstrong, of the Harpenden Safer Neighbourhood Team, investigating, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area or anyone who has any information about the incident to get in touch by calling the non-emergency number 101.”
