TWO men were this morning charged in connection with an alleged break-in at a barn in Harpenden early yesterday.

The police were called at around 2.45am on Tuesday July 31 to Bower Heath Lane following reports that people were trying to gain entry to a barn. A small sum of money was taken from the location.

Shortly after a helicopter joined officers and a dog unit deployed to the scene, two men were arrested.

Tulian Ionesi, 22, of Victoria Road, Hounslow, and 24-year-old Silviu Vataman from Dryden Road, Harrow, were charged with burglary.

They have been remanded in custody to appear before Hatfield Remand Court today.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
