Offensive graffiti has appeared scrawled on paving slabs outside St Albans Cathedral.

Police officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team spoke with Cathedral staff about the graffiti, which appeared over the weekend.

The land does not belong to the Cathedral and St Albans council and police have arranged for the graffiti to be cleared by Herts Highways.

Anyone who has information about the graffiti should contact Herts Police on the non-emergency number 101.
