Van fire on the M1 near to St Albans

Motorists are being advised to avoid the M1 between junctions eight and nine due to a van fire.

The hard shoulder and a lane are closed while firefighters from Hemel Hempstead and Markyate put out the blaze.

The incident is expected to be clear by between 5pm and 5.15pm and traffic is expected to clear by between 6.15pm and 6.30pm.
