FLOCK to Willows Farm Village in London Colney this week for some fleecy fun as hundreds of lambs are expected to be born during half-term.

The children’s attraction, on Coursers Road, will demonstrate bottle-feeding of lambs to show how important milk is to the growing animals and how thirsty they get.

A spokeswoman for the farm said that visitors should forget about “ewe-tube” and instead log-on to the Willows’ lamb-cam.

Available on Willows’ website, it streams a live feed 24 hours a day from the lambing marquee, allowing people to log on at home and check the progress of the lambs they saw being born during their visit.

Katie Wolfe, daughter of farmers Andrew and Anna, said she would join the lambing team as it was a “highlight of the year”.

She added: “I feel very privileged to have grown up on a farm and as a child I loved to watch my parents at work.”

The annual lambing event runs until February 24.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
