FLEXIBLE care is being offered at a Harpenden primary school which has extended its opening hours to allow parents to choose when their children attend the nursery.

To recognise the change, the school has renamed itself The Lea Primary School and nursery and at a recent ceremony head teacher Sharon Swinson was joined by the town's MP Peter Lilley to unveil a new sign board.

Sharon said: "We are very proud of the fact that The Lea Primary School and nursery is the only school in Harpenden offering flexible nursery care covering three days or five mornings.

"Children will benefit from attending the same school from the age of three through to 11. Furthermore the education standards are above the Herts average and class sizes are 20 or less. We have really excellent facilities on offer.
