David Griffin: 48, of Bricket Road, St Albans, was committed to prison for 12 weeks and ordered to pay £50 compensation for using racially aggravated language in a hospital waiting room towards a security guard doing his job, thereby causing harassment, alarm or distress, at Watford on March 7.

Lewis Kenchington: 29, of Whitecroft, St Albans, was ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid community work and pay £120 compensation and £485 costs after assaulting a woman by beating and damaging a door, in St Albans on December 2.

Darren Baker: 44, of High Street, London Colney, was fined £660 plus £151 costs and awarded six penalty points after failing to provide the identity of the motorist using his vehicle when it was involved in an offence, at Stevenage on October 12.

Harry Barnard: 23, of Tylers, Harpenden, was fined £198 plus £115 costs and awarded six penalty points after speeding at 99mph along the 70mph A10 Great Cambridge Road at Wormley on August 28.

Christopher Doherty: 23, of Newgate Close, St Albans, was fined £660 plus £151 costs and awarded eight penalty points for driving without insurance in Cole Green Lane, Welwyn Garden City, on August 26.

Stephen Fellowes: 60, of Scrubbitts Square, Radlett, was fined £220 plus £115 costs and awarded three penalty points for driving without a licence in King Street, Watford, on August 24.

Antonia Frangoudis: 31, of Norris Close, London Colney, was fined £660 plus £151 costs and awarded six penalty points after failing to provide the identity of the motorist using his vehicle when it was involved in an offence, at Stevenage on November 2.

John Humphrey: 63, of Ryder Seed Mews, St Albans, was fined £660 plus £151 costs and awarded eight penalty points for driving without insurance in St Albans Road, Watford, on August 18.

Steven Kirikal: 28, of Rowan Close, St Albans, was fined £220 plus £115 costs and awarded three penalty points after speeding at 75mph along the M25 between J23-24 when a temporary 60mph speed limit was in place on September 3.

Alexandru Portarescu: 29, of Lye Lane, Bricket Wood, was fined £220 plus £115 costs and awarded three penalty points for speeding at 48mph along the 40mph A414 St Albans Road on September 4.

Hamid Shah: 28, of London Road, St Albans, was fined £440 plus £129 costs and awarded six penalty points for speeding at 64mph along the 40mph Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage, on August 26.

John Wallbanks: 39, of Pikes Leap, Wheathampstead, was fined £440 plus £129 costs and awarded four penalty points for speeding at 92mph along the 70mph A1(M) between J1-2 at Welham Green on August 22.

Keygan Cyrus: 35, of Artisan Crescent, St Albans, was fined £1,980 plus £151 costs and was banned from driving for six months after driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after an accident whereby personal injury was caused to other persons, in White Horse Lane, London Colney, on July 17, and failing to report the accident at a police station within 24 hours.

Vertil Alexander: 54, of Claremont, Bricket Wood, was fined £233 plus £115 costs and awarded six penalty points after speeding at 75mph along the M25 between J24-25 when a temporary 50mph speed limit was in place on March 5.

Paul Niven: 35, of Scrubbitts Square, Radlett, was committed to prison for 12 weeks and ordered to pay £150 compensation and £115 costs after assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty, in Hatfield on January 18, stealing an Argos store card in Borehamwood between December 18 and January 18, and breaching a criminal behaviour order prohibiting from entering Radlett, on January 18.

Catherine Geddes: 53, of Langley Grove, Sandridge, was fined £100 plus £115 costs after damaging a Vauxhall Corsa in Bricket Road, St Albans on December 2. She was also banned from driving for 36 months and fined £162 plus £230 costs after refusing to provide a breath specimen at Hatfield on December 7, and a further £54 fine for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in St Albans on December 7.

Pamela Southall: 53, of Tassell Hall, Redbourn, was fined £100 plus £115 costs after assaulting a man by beating in Redbourn on February 21.

Recently we, as a family (minus two of the kids), visited The Lodge RSPB reserve in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I had never been before, which is perhaps amiss of me as a birdwatcher as it is the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB and only 45 minutes drive from home.
