Christopher Joseph: 41, of Russett Drive, St Albans, was ordered to carry out an additional 14 unpaid community work hours on top of the 100 imposed by West and Central Herts Magistrates’ Court on December 15, and pay costs of £85 after failing to turn up for unpaid community work appointments on December 23, January 4 and 5.

Lee Palmer: 20, of Cotlandswick, St Albans, was fined £50 plus £85 costs after failing to turn up for unpaid community work appointments on December 29 and January 9, as ordered by St Albans Magistrates’ Court on December 22.

Mark Stevenson: 36, of Charmouth Road, St Albans, was fined £262 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded six penalty points for driving in a Renault Master along the A1M southbound at J3 for Hatfield while using a handheld mobile phone, on July 1. He was also fined £524 plus a further nine penalty points for speeding in a Mercedes-Benz GLE 500 along the 30mph Christchurch Road, Epsom, Surrey, on May 23 and 24 and June 7 and 21 2017. He was subsequently banned from driving for 56 days due to repeat offending.

Vitaliy Gavrilov: 33, of Doggetts Way, St Albans, was fined £90 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded six penalty points for driving in a Honda Civic along the A1M at Welwyn Garden City when using a handheld mobile phone on June 2.

Joseph Michalczyk: 73, of Down Edge, Redbourn, was fined £95 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded five penalty points after driving without due care and attention in a Peugeot Boxer along Hemel Hempstead Road, Redbourn, on August 18.

Jamie Harris: 23, of Noke Shot, Harpenden, was fined £220 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded three penalty points for speeding at 38mph in a Vauxhall Corsa along the 30mph A5183 Frogmore, south of Brinsmead, St Albans, on September 20.

Beatrice Pancu: 19, of Holywell Hill, St Albans, was fined £160 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded six penalty points for driving without insurance or a licence in a Ford Fiesta along Harpenden Road, St Albans, on September 13. She only had a provisional licence but was not displaying L plates and did not have a qualified supervisor in the passenger seat.

Tarran-Joe Summers: 31, of Noke Lane, St Albans, was fined £220 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded three penalty points after speeding at 48mph in a Ford motor home along the 40mph A10 Great Cambridge Road, near Pine Close, Cheshunt, on September 16.

Gazi Ali: 49, of Gorham Drive, St Albans, was fined £100 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded three penalty points after speeding at 58mph in a Nissan Qashqai Tekna along the 50mph A414 Stanstead Abbotts by-pass, near Briggens Park, on September 25.

Alan Bandy: 43, of Pickford Hill, Harpenden, was fined £880 plus £85 costs and £66 towards victim services, and was awarded six penalty points for driving a Vauxhall Astra without insurance or MOT in Pickford Hill, Harpenden, on September 22.

Ross Ward: 25, of Rowan Close, Bricket Wood, was fined £70 plus £30 towards victim services and was awarded three penalty points for speeding at 41mph in a Volkswagen Golf along the 30mph Radlett Road, north of Colonial Way, Watford, on September 19.

Paul Thompson: 60, of London Road, Shenley, was fined £166 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded three penalty points for speeding at 58mph in a Volkswagen Caddy along the 50mph A414 Stanstead Abbotts by-pass, near Briggens Park, on September 27.

Thomas Boylan-Johnson: 25, of Artisan Crescent, St Albans, was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £880 plus £85 costs and £66 towards victim services after driving a Volvo S60 without insurance or MOT in Drovers Way, St Albans, on June 22.

Billy Schwer: 48, of Millstone Way, Harpenden, was fined £70 plus £30 towards victim services and was awarded four penalty points for speeding at 41mph in a Mercedes-Benz C 200 along the 30mph B653 Lower Luton Road, outside Lea Industrial Estate, Harpenden, on August 11.

Michael Doody: 33, of Ladies Grove, St Albans, was fined £1,100 plus £85 costs and £66 towards victim services, and was awarded six penalty points for driving a Ford Fiesta without a licence, MOT or insurance in Coursers Road, London Colney, on September 22.

Thomas Beaney: 28, of Barley Mow Lane, St Albans, was fined £220 plus £85 costs and £30 towards victim services, and was awarded three penalty points after driving a Ford Transit with four passengers over three seats, which involved a danger of injury to any person, in Colney Heath lane, St Albans, on September 20.

We were busy moving rotten pieces of wood from the side of the shed when suddenly I felt sharp stabbing pains in my lower legs. Before I had a chance to investigate my son started screaming in pain and it took a few more seconds to realize that we were trampling on a wasps’ nest!
